AnimeNYC has been called off!

As many disappointments as this current global pandemic have resulted in so far, it has managed to let down the anime community yet again. With the impossibilities of having mass gatherings and incoming and outgoing travel by any media, and enormous troubles with lodgings and bookings of event venues due to safety regulations regarding Corona Virus disease, AnimeNYC's production heads have announced the official cancellation of 2020 edition of AnimeNYC.
AnimeNYC is a three-day anime convention which is annually held around mid-November every year. The convention has had extensively successful three annual events so far, and the 2020 edition was going to be its fourth one. This year's AnimeNYC annual convention was originally dated between November 20-22 at the Javits Centre in New York. With immense fandom in the US, the organisers were expecting somewhat 50000 attendees this year. Next edition is scheduled for 19-21 November 2021.
Their twitter handle @animenyc tweeted — “After tremendous deliberation, #AnimeNYC is cancelled this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. A thank you to the Javits Center, the anime industry, and all the fans who love to celebrate with us - and we'll see next Nov 19-21, 2021”.
The announcement also said — “Anime NYC looks to present alternative and online programming and events before November 2021.” However, the organisers have offered the attendees who had already booked their seats and purchased tickets for the now-cancelled event with an option to either have their respective refunds or pass their reservations and participation on to the next year's convention.
