Beastars Anime's 2nd Season to Premiere on January 5

The second season anime adaptation of Paru Itagaki's Beastars manga is set to premiere on January 5, 2021, on Netflix in Japan. It was revealed on Thursday through a new promotional video of the anime on "Fuji TV Anime Lineup Unveiling 2020" live stream event. The video also announced the opening theme song "Kaibutsu" (Monster) by the duo YOASOBI.

The first episode will premiere exclusively on Netflix in Japan on January 5, 2021, and then a new episode will stream every Thursday. The series will then air in Fuji TV's +Ultra starting from January 6.

The first season of the anime aired from October 8 to December 26, 2019, with 12-episodes. Netflix released it outside of Japan on March 13, 2020.

Itagaki launched the manga in Akita Shoten's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Champion on September 8, 2016. The manga ended on October 8, 2020.
