Toei Animation released a new trailer for 'Looking for Magical DoReMi (Majo Minarai O Sagashite)' film on Tuesday and announced that it will be releasing the film on November 13, 2020. The film will be commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Ojamajo Doremi magical girl anime franchise.
The film was first planned to be released on May 15, 2020, but got delayed due to production issues as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was rescheduled to November 13, 2020.
The film centres around three adults, Sora Nagase (22), Mire Yoshigaki (27) and Reika Kawatani(20), who once witnessed a magical happening twenty years ago. It will bring the three women together from a completely different walk of life as they embark on a magical journey.
The voice artists cast for the film are, Aoi Morikawa as Sora Nagase, Rena Matsui as Mire Yoshigaki, Kanako Momota as Reika Kwawatani, Kenta Hamano as Seiya Kubo (Reika's no-good boyfriend), Shohei Miura as Ryuichi Oomiya (a college student who travels with the three heroines) and Akira Ishida as Hayato Yabe (Mire's junior at work). The voice actresses from the original anime series will reprise their roles. Staff members who worked on the original anime series returned to the project, including Junichi Sato and Yu Kamatani as directors, Midori Kuriyama as a screenwriter, and Yoshihiko Umakoshi as the character designer.
The first Ojamajo Doremi anime series originally premiered in Japan on February 7, 1999. 4Kids Entertainment licenced the first season from Toei Animation under the title Magical DoReMi in 2005.
