"Why The Hell Are You Here, Teacher!?" Manga Goes on Hiatus!

Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine announced on Monday that Soborou's "Why The Hell Are You Here, Teacher!?" will go on a hiatus due to the creator's illness. The manga will not be appearing on the 39th issue of the Magazine but it will still appear on the front cover and is listed in the table of contents.

Soborou, the manga creator wrote on his twitter handle that since the manga began serialization, he had experienced medical problems such as loss of hearing and tendonitis. He would rest when the medical problems would worsen. However, at the beginning of the year, the problem became hard for him to ignore and it became harder for him to continue with his work. The decision of putting the manga on hiatus was made after he consulted with the magazine's editorial department.

The manga was initially published in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine as a series of one-shots under the title "Golden Times". It began serialization in the same magazine on April 24, 2017.

It was announced in June 2020 that BookWalker Global partnered with Kodansha USA to release the manga in the English language, and the first three volumes were released digitally on July 14, 2020.

The TV anime adaptation of the manga first aired in Japan on April 8 2019, to June 24, 2019, with 12 episodes and an OVA.
